Our houses range from small medieval hall houses that remain virtually unaltered from when they were built to grand castles with fine collections of art and antiques. Discover opportunities to see our houses and gardens, from day visits and tours to overnight stays or hiring a venue for your wedding or special event.
Our owners and curators recognise the privilege of living and working in a historic place. Many open their houses and gardens in some way both to share their love of these places with the public and to generate income towards their upkeep.
Members of Historic Houses have free access as day visitors to those houses and gardens in Wales and across the UK that participate in our Membership Access Scheme. Other houses offer discounted Invitation to View guided tours for members. Tours are led by either an owner or someone closely connected to the house and include refreshments such as morning coffee, afternoon tea, lunch or dinner.
Some of our houses offer Accommodation such as bed and breakfast within the house, or the house can be hired for a special event such as a wedding or anniversary or corporate day. Many houses and gardens hold Events such as music festivals or fetes either to raise funds for restoration or for other charitable causes.
